With the many changes happening within our school district, our community needs the security and peace of mind that comes with being able to predict what will happen next, and being familiar with those we are in contact with on a daily basis.  Brenda Carter not only fulfills the duties of a lead secretary, in our small community she serves as a mentor, a confidant, a caregiver, a school nurse, a parent figure, and more importantly, the main liaison between angry parents and school personnel.  The principals may be the head of our schools, but secretaries like Brenda Carter, are the head of our public relations, and the school simply would not be the same without her.

Using teachers to rotate out the duties of a secretary and expecting the same quality of work, would be like using secretaries to rotate out the duties of teachers, and expecting the students to learn.  Don't under estimate the expertise needed to do the job of a school secretary and risk losing one of the main arteries of our middle school.  Prove to us that the voice of our community, the same one you all live in, means something to you.
