FSAE Rules

The 2006 Formula SAE comeptition rules state: Site will open daily at 6:30 am for the teams. The site will officially close at 8:30pm and all teams must be offsite by 9pm. If you must take your car offsite, you will have to line up starting at 7pm and ready to leave by 8pm following an escort out of the event site. Please have one member of your team sign this petition if you would like the rules to allow for teams to stay on site overnight to be able to work on their cars. We understand that this rule will not likely be changed for the 2006 competition, but signing this petition can help change the rules for future years.

9 years ago Comments: Competitions are so infrequent and often so far away from any given school that when teams compete, if something needs to be repaired, they should have every chance to do so. Putting a time limit on access to the car ties that hands of many teams that are fully capable of competing, but simply run out of time. This is not in the spirit of good competition. It's not like NASCAR where if you have a bad showing one week you can have another chance next week. Limiting time and access to the vehicle is no way to promote good competition
