It was announced this year that Frostbite (movie), the sequel to Vampire Academy (movie), wouldn't be being made after a failed appeal to raise the monies required and to recognize the fan base for the movie after a number of very negative reviews.
The movie is based on the books under the same name, also nicknamed 'The VA Series'. It a massively popular book series selling over 8 million copies in 35 countries written by Richelle Mead. It is the story of forbidden love, action and adventure following the narrator Rose Hathaway, a dhampir teenager and novice guardian.
Though the movie was heavily criticized, a number of the fan express there love for the movie and wish for the writers, producers, actors and all other required people to make the sequel.
Producer Deepak Nayar was reported by MTV news after the announcement of the fundraiser to explain how important the fans were to him and the movie...
“Our financiers were willing to move forward ONLY if we could show them the fans would support us,” Nayar said. “It’s not an exaggeration to say that we would not be here without them.”
The aim for this petition is to reach 1.5 million signatures, the same figure the producers were attempting to raise from the fundraiser.
If this petition reaches enough signatures, my intention is to show it to the producers and director in a attempt to convince them of the viability of Frostbite.
