Name: Michael Rowland on Sep 7, 2011Comments: As an independent business owner and long-time volunteer and performer in the arts, I can testify to the incredible value, impact, and efficiency of the arts and arts organizations and the leverage created by the funding provided by the City through the Toronto Arts Council. These are worthwhile investments of tax dollars, including my own.Flag

Name: Jeanne Holmes on Sep 7, 2011Comments: I cannot say more emphatically how essential the arts are to my City! I am happy to contribute what I think is a small portion of my tax dollars to support artists and organizations working in our city. In fact I'd much rather fund the arts than a monorail.Flag

Name: Richard Michael Sacks on Sep 7, 2011Comments: The minuscule % of taxes to the arts generate enormous income for business downtown. Parking, restaurants, printers, ushers, hotels, variety stores, etc. What happens when there's nothing but condos and no culture. Very dangerous indeed.Flag

Name: Christy DiFelice on Sep 7, 2011Comments: Beyond the economical impacts of these proposed cuts, the arts are what make my city worth living. During the election, Mr. Ford was quoted as having looked to Mississauga as an example of a financially responsible city. The problem, is that no one I know lives in Mississauga because they want to. All live there because it is more affordable and a short drive to Toronto. If we cut what makes Toronto an attraction, where we will drive to for pleasure--Kingston, Peterborough? Wait, they also come here...Flag
