We, the undersigned residents of all villages and countries, request that the Town Board of Franklin, NY pass legislation prohibiting heavy industrial activities including gas mining and related industries, including hydraulic fracturing, until such a time as it can be proven that such activity does not damage in any way our water, our air, our night sky, our roads, our health, our property values and rural quality of life. Further, we ask that a law be enacted to control excessive use of town/hamlet roads by heavy equipment associated with heavy industry in the event that neighboring towns do not also prohibit such industrialization. Further, we ask that a law be enacted to ban the acceptance of contaminated waste water from out-of-town or out-of-state entities by any facility for any purpose.

im still talking to neighbors every day and the anxiety about our water quality is really hitting home. people are starting to realize that if we dont push back now our roads and quiet nights wont stand a chance against these industrial crews.

this is honestly blowing my mind because i didnt think we would get this much traction so fast. knowing people care this much about our water and our quiet life here makes me feel way better about the fight ahead.

Keep our water clean. Nobody wants that toxic garbage near their home.

The roads in Franklin are bad enough as it is. We dont need 18 wheelers tearing them up all day and night.

HECK NO. Not in our town. We moved here for the peace and quiet not for fracking trucks

Property values are gonna tank if they let this happen. Stop it now before it starts.

Think about the kids growing up here. This will ruin everything the area has going for it.
