Camp Singing Hills is currently a Girl Scout owned camp in Middlebury, IN. It is 240 acres of rolling meadows, pine forest, and deciduous forest. It is home to rare species of plant and animal life. This camp has been a summer resident camp for the girls in Elkhart, La Grange, Noble, Whitely and Kosciusko counties since it’s purchase in 1960. Camp Singing Hills is a prime location to provide programming that keeps “no girl left inside” and encourage “unplugged” activities that lead to healthier life styles and more fit children. It has played a huge role in developing young girls into women of integrity and strength. In September of 2010 The Board of Directors of Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana-Michiana voted to sell off the property to create more revenue for the council with little-to-no regard to what the membership of the council wanted. The property is paid in full and currently experiences a tax exempt status. Property of this value will be impossible for the council to replace in the future. Please sign the petition to show your support for the Friends of Camp Singing Hills and their mission to preserve this beautiful camp for generations to come.
