Name: Alison Lowe on Dec 8, 2011Comments: It is certainly worth the Highland Council taking a little more time to revisit the options and also the necessity for the west link to the A82. It seems the public are not being made actively aware of all the reasons given for the west link and therefore are not in a position of making informed decisions when being consulted.Flag

Name: Frances Grant on Dec 8, 2011Comments: I think that Highland Council should be ashamed of themselves for even considering using Common Good land for the purpose of building a road. This is not in the spirit of 'common good' Please rethink and use 'common sense' by including an additional option of 'no west road'Flag

Name: Anonymous on Dec 10, 2011Comments: The centre of Inverness was badly damaged in the 1960s by lack of forethought. The few remaining places which make Inverness worth staying more than 30mins, if you are a tourist, in are all associated with the river. Also, Whin park gives a much needed park are for those who live in Inverness. If the council does not have the money, at the moment, to build a bridge in the best and most expensive place, then they must hold off until they do. Do not make the same mistake as was made in the 1960s, Invernessians will have to live with what you do forever. If there is a problem with too much traffic, then stop the building which is all being bought be people outwith the area. Also, prioritize the building of bicycle tracks. Use what cash is available to do this and leave the idea of any further bridges either completely or until the very best and most expensive option can be done.Flag

Name: John Craig on Jan 12, 2012Comments: Already signed this petition, but were you aware that 75% of all canal traffic through Tomnahurich bridge is generated by Caley Cruisers so probably about 50% of bridge swings. Option 8 Caley Cruisers re-locate to Torvean Quarry which is Council owned and already excavated to a depth greater than the Canal.Flag

Name: Carlos on May 4, 2012Comments: I am incredibly graetful to CASE for their success and continuing work opposing the 4 4 semester schedule in our high school. The 4 4 semester plan was a terrible idea. But CASE's current Take7 Teach5 petition goes beyond opposition to a semesterized schedule. It advocates reducing the courseload from 8 to 7 classes, which is an entirely different issue. Many people who signed the petition seemed to think they are supporting the end of semesterization when in fact they are supporting cutting our kids' opportunities to take electives. Perhaps they are unaware that kids who feel that 8 classes leaves them insufficient family time may choose to take 7 classes and a study hall, which still earns more than the 26 credits required for an advanced degree.AHS is running an 8 class yearlong schedule this year which is working very well for my child. CASE, and Ned Gallaway, please focus on keeping our core classes year-long. Don't take away my child's electives. Mr. Gallaway, you say you support the arts. If CASE succeeds in mandating 7 classes for our kids, my child *will* drop out of chorus next year. She doesn't want that. Is that really what you want?I quote the beginning of CASE's petition: Whereas the eight period high school schedule adopted by Albemarle County Schools in 2010 has had the following negative consequences:- increased student workloads, which reduces family time and inhibits the development of the whole child; - decreased total instructional time by approximately 10% per course;Flag
