“We, the undersigned, call on the administrations of both organizations to find a way forward in a manner that preserves and complements the unique qualities and utility of each organization.” Principles: 1. Maintain the Reserve’s unique character as a “sanctuary for wildlife and the human spirit” 2. Help the Reserve and the Shelter find/create sustainable paths into the future. They are both assets to and resources for the community, and they each depend on the support of the community. 3. Continue the core of Prentice Bloedel’s original vision- to be a good neighbor, to conserve resources, and to welcome people to the Reserve so they renew their spirit and their appreciation for nature and wildlife
