The small field attached to number 166 Middle Road, Sholing is greatly valued by local residents as an attractive green space. It is also a valuable haven for wildlife.
Building houses on the land would increase traffic congestion, disrupt the wildlife corridor that links into the Miller’s Pond Local Nature Reserve and possibly obstruct drainage on the steep ground.
I oppose the building of any permanent structures on the site.
I've just heard from Frank's family that they are not driving to get houses built on the field. We'd still appreciate your support because the estate agent and property developer are exploring their options, however I would like to make it very clear that we are not petitioning against Frank's family. We have no quarrel with them personally.
A shame to lose anoth small area of wildlife green space.
I feel that loosing another area such as this to houses would be a tragedy for local people and their families in the future. We have already lost land to squirrel drive ,Bracklesham close, and to flats that no 166 on the south east rd side. This spot has always been a stopping point for people especially with young children and i beleive it to be benificial in them getting to know about natue. Apart from the importance of the site as far as the wildlife there is also the issue of traffic and parking . Many vehisles park in southeast road including school buses , they cant come onto middle rd at school time until ready to collect because it is too conjested, this may come more difficult as the pavements are due to be altered
Please don't let another green space, essential for wildlife be built on.
