Name: Lisa Wheatley on Jun 3, 2010Comments: I have personally known Weston Healy for about 5 years- in that time he has been in my home on many occasions, he is friends with my son, who is also 18 years old and my husband was his scoutmaster. We attend church with Weston every Sunday and I consider him to be an outstanding young man with a great future ahead of him.Flag

Name: Garret Swart on Jun 3, 2010Comments: Gunn High School administration should exercise discretion and drop all proceedings against Weston. A Zero Tolerance Policy should not become a Zero Judgement Policy. Many many students and parents have unthinkingly carried Air Soft guns onto campus in the back of cars and the bottom of backpacks. Weston should not be singled out for this minor and unintended infraction even though it resulted in an unfortunate disruption. Rather than punishing Weston, we should instead learn from this incident and try and understand how to better respond to such incidents in the future.Flag

Name: Geoff Kerr on Jun 3, 2010Comments: I know Weston through my son and Gunn Water Polo. Although bringing an airsoft gun to school was no a smart move, Weston doesn't need to be punished so harshly that his future is permenantly ruined. Certainly a good lesson has been learned. He's an Eagle School, a leader , a good student and an Athlete--a model teenager. Help him learn a good lesson, and all of us in Palo Alto. Don't make him a scape goat.Flag

Name: Richard C. Blake on Jun 3, 2010Comments: I have known Weston for a number of years and currently serve as a lay minister in the LDS congregation where Weston attends. I am also a local attorney. This is an opportunity for Gunn and the prosecutors office to exercise reason and restraint. I would hate to see a simple mistake ruin the life of a model student.Flag

Name: Angela Richards on Jun 3, 2010Comments: Weston is a good kid who has been raised by good parents. He has worked hard his entire life to do the right thing. Like all kids, he made a mistake. I urge you to consider the innocence of the mistake and that he did not have any harmful intentions as you make your decisions. Please allow him the opportunities that he has worked so hard to obtain.Flag

Name: Craig Phelps on Jun 3, 2010Comments: To Administrators and Others Concerned, When Weston was 12 and 13 years old, I was his Sunday School teacher. Having taught many adolescents, I have witnessed a variety of behaviors, attitudes and values in those children. I sincerely aver that Weston Healy has been a bright light in my experiences, even amongst many wonderful kids. I hope that consideration will be given to the totality of Weston's life, his family's values and teachings, and the prospects for his future, in assessing his recent errant actions and determining the severity of his punishment. I think it would be a gross shame to scar Weston's life with an overly dark consequence. Thank you so much for your consideration. Sincerely, Craig PhelpsFlag

He is active in school and his community, and has always excelled in what he participate in, be it academics, sports, family life, etc. Please do not allow an incident like this to impede Weston's progress in life. Sincerely, Brad CampbellFlag

Name: Jim And Olivia Abrams on Jun 3, 2010Comments: We heartily agree with the comments above. Our experience with Weston has proven he is a model citizen for someone his age and as responsible parents we can appreciate that all teenagers may not make the best decisions at all times given their inexperience. It would be an admirable expression on Gunn administration's part to conscientiously review all of the truthful data and excuse Weston from any further repercussions.Flag

Name: Diane Kennedy on Jun 3, 2010Comments: We know the Wheeler/Healy family and were told of this situation this morning. My child also plays with airsoft guns and I was completely unaware of these school/city rules, especially as serious as this is against Weston. Weston is a good, responsible child. I think this was clearly a misunderstanding of school rules and with no mailicious intent what-so-ever.Flag
