There are blogs/users with inactive blogs who are holding up URLs for everyone else to use. People have resorted to hyphen glitching a URL just to have one that they desire because it's usually taken by a blog with 2 posts and last post was usually made 2 years ago. Not only would this benefit Tumblr by clearing up some 'dead space' on their servers but would also increase population morale and make the tumblr experience more enjoyable, while giving users a slightly more 'personal touch' over their choice of URL; rather than having to substitute letters and insert hyphens. Recently, I reported a URL that was legitimately creating spam posts, this blog was then 'suspended'. Tumblr claims in their ToS (Terms of Service) that they will suspend or terminate any 'subscriber' who solicits in spam or malicious content. What would be the purpose of suspending a spam blog or one of those "Tumblr IQ Survey" blogs? Delete it, and release the URL to be used by the community. ------------------------------------------------------ 3. Subscriber Content: Tumblr reserves the right to remove any Subscriber Content from the Site, suspend or terminate Subscriber’s right to use the Services at any time, or pursue any other remedy or relief available to Tumblr and/or the Site under equity or law, for any reason (including, but not limited to, upon receipt of claims or allegations from third parties or authorities relating to such Subscriber Content or if Tumblr is concerned that Subscriber may have breached the immediately preceding sentence), or for no reason at all. ~~~ 13. Termination Either party may terminate the Services at any time by notifying the other party by any means. Tumblr may also terminate or suspend any and all Services and access to the Site immediately, without prior notice or liability, if Subscriber breaches any of the terms or conditions of this Agreement. Upon termination of Subscriber's account, Subscriber’s right to use the Services, access the Site, and any Content will immediately cease. All provisions of this Agreement which by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, and limitations of liability. Termination of Your access to and use of the Site and the Services shall not relieve Subscriber of any obligations arising or accruing prior to such termination or limit any liability which Subscriber otherwise may have to Tumblr or the Site, including without limitation any indemnification obligations contained herein.
