We all believe you and support you 100%. Your story is being heard everywhere, I believe changes will be made because of this. I will also be writing to my representative in the hopes that this injustice will never happen again. |

Kathy Lippe | Maybe a few men need to experience what it is like to feel helpless and disrespected, de-humanized and beaten. Rape is oh so different than sex. Sex when it is consensual is a beautiful experience, but when one takes away your right to choice who you want to have sex with it is called rape. Look up the words we are talking about here in Webester's and you will find the meaning of each. Rape takes away everything you hold dear to you, not just at the time ,but for as long as you live.It destroys families and relationships that just can't be mended. If rape didn't have the meaning we all know it has, then the men of the women who are raped would not turn away from the woman they said they loved. When you are raped you are seen a damaged goods, and until we educate everyone to what rape is like, this type of outrage will continue. I don't believe that in any other trial in a courtroom, states that certain words can not be used to discribe the reason the crime. Is this just another case of the GOOG OLD BOYS protecting EACH OTHER. This is a shame. No one knows the pain a woman goes through, unless they've been there. It is hard enough to go to court and sit there and have to say "I;ve been raoed", because she already knows that people are looking at her and thinking that she must have done something for it to happen. This is not true, I know of no one who ever wanted to be raped and have their free will taken away from them, and then to get in a court and not use the words for what happened to her. When will we wake up and become educated that freedom of speech, give one the RIGHT to explain what happened during the rape, an unwilling participation in an act that will haunt her for the rest of her life. SHAME on the Judicial System that can allow these court and judges from these actions. Sex implies consent when the two people agree to engage in it, not when some one helps themselves to your bodies. Thank God for the wonderful people who do take rape kits and consouls the victim, who wishes she could climb into the deepest hole and die, because she is so embrassed and humilitated by what has just happened to her. How can a judge break a rule of the constitution. He was given his job and vowed to uphold the Constitution of these United States. AND WE WONDER WHY WOMEN DON'T COME FORWARD. I think you have a good clue as to WHY. Shame on any judge who supports this ruling. Survivors have been fighting this battle for ages, but this is a new slant in the law, one that will give rapist more power to keep doing it and getting away with it. Leaving the survivor empty inside, because even the courts are raping her all over again.

Anonymous | We must stop rape and all forms of abuse if we are ever to be a truly civilized nation.
Anonymous | The English language contains all the words it does because so many words have different connotations. To deny the use of any word is denying a person to tell the whole truth. Forcing them to use different words will force them to tell something other than the truth. But most importantly, to deny a whole array of words, or an entire category of words imposes an undue burden on the party that would normally use these words. Perhaps the justice system needs to rediscover what is just and what is prejudicial.
Karen Kastler | Since when is the use of the alleged crime not allowable in court? What will happpen next? we catr use the word assaualt, robbery, murder?

Diane Krueger | Judge Cheuvront needs to exposed for who he is. He has left my daughter impoverished after giving temporary sole custody of the children to their abusive father. He refused her request for psychological eval, and never took the time toeven meet her!

Anonymous | WOW! All these Judges are males! How About That! Need I say more? Amazing what a little power will do to insolent, insignificant men sitting high up on their benchs wrapped up in their shinny black robes. Another shining example of the Good Old Boys mentality regarding women.
Anonymous | This is outrageous...victimizing the victim for a second time is unacceptable.
Nicole | if someone was assaulted and kicked in the stomach would they have to use the term "with momentum moved his foot into my abdomen causing severe discomfort several times" instead of "kicked me in the stomach repeatedly"

Jennifer Barnhardt | As a rape victim I am VERY OFFENDED. This judge needs to be removed from bench. He has no idea the pain and suffering we as victims go thru.
Briana B. |
Autumn McNay | I know what Tory has been through and I pray for everyone out there wjho has experienced any sort of sexual assault. Shame on the judge, the act should not be described as anything other than what it was. Is he attemting to prevent women (or men) from being able to convict the very person who has harmed them (and in most caes many other people).

Anonymous | As a rape survivor, I am completely outraged by this. I've never seen something so ridiculous in my entire life. I don't really understand this language ban. If you ban the word rape, what is there left for Tory to say? That it was sex? because thats clearly and obviously not what it was. My personal opinion is that the judge is just abusing his power as the judge. I'm deeply appalled and repulsed by the things that have been going on with this case. Tory, everyone here petitioning, as well as myself stand by you 100 percent!
