Free Ryan Widmer

A Warren County jury has found a Hamilton Township man charged with killing his newlywed wife guilty of murder, but not guilty of aggravated murder. The 12 member jury returned the verdict after more than 22 hours of deliberating in the murder trial of 28-year-old Ryan Widmer. This was a horrible example of our justice system that needs to be overturned. Please sign your name in support.

1 year ago Comments: I felt very strongly that the evidence against Mr Widmer was weak. When the EMT got there he said Sarah's body was dry. If her husband a fairly large man fully clothed, lifted her out of the tub, was over her doing CPR, I imagine her body would be dry. She would have had direct contact to his clothed body. The 911 call was questioned, stating he was already making an alibi and it sounded staged. Im sorry I know a bit about psychology and I disagree. I felt that his phone call sounded genuine and that he has always come across to me as sincere. I also felt in his last trail that he was convicted partially because he had formed relationships with many of the woman who, after watching Dateline, contacted him. His wife by that time had been deceased for over 4 years and he had been sitting in a jail cell. That seemed to play a role in prosecutors case and it was not fair. I was wondering about the testimony of the woman in the last trail that said he confessed to her late one night on the phone. I thought all calls made in jail were taped. Why wasn't this one? She did not seem credible to me. I will end there. I had serious doubt about almost all the evidence that was used to convict Ryan Widmer. Thank you for your consideration. Robyn Lees
