This poor women needs your help! Not only has she lost her son, she has now been convicted of killing him because he lost her grip while crossing the road. Raquel Nelson's four-year old son died after he was hit by a driver as they crossed the road from a bus stop to their apartment. She was prosecuted under the offence of jaywalking, which means it's illegal to cross the road anywhere other than at a designated crossing point. So in other words she crossed the road at the wrong place, which is utter nonsense. This was nothing more than a heartbreaking accident and Raquel should not have to suffer anymore than she already has. The driver had been drinking and had taken painkillers on the night of the accident and was mostly blind in one eye. He also had a prior conviction for a hit and fun accident. He got six months. Raquel faced up to three years, but received a 12-months probationary sentence after the case caused public uproar in America. Raquel deserves the most sincere apology from the American justice system. Please sign the petition for her to get one and for the court to take back the sentence. This is outrageous and the most inhuman law to have. Please help Raquel. She has suffered enough trauma, this is not fair. Thank you.
