Name: Audrey Eisen on Apr 2, 2008Comments: To President Bush, Senators and Members of Congress, WE THE UNDERSIGNED WOULD LIKE TO BRING YOUR ATTENTION THE FOLLOWING PROBLEMS THE PEOPLE OF NAGALIM HAVE WITH THE GOVERNMENT OF INDIA. Since the British withdrew from India in 1947, the Government of India (GOI) has been forcibly oppressing the Nagas. Currently over 250,000 Indian armed forces are occupying Nagalim. The Indian government has been implementing The Armed Forces Special Powers Act, since 1958 which grossly violates 17 out of the 30 articles of the United Nations' Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This act is especially designed to suppress Article One, a people's right to self-determination. With this Act, any Indian official can legally shoot-to-kill or arrest a Naga on mere suspicion without a warrant if they talk about FREEDOM. And as a result more than 300,000 Nagas have been killed, tortured, raped, beaten and starved. How can this be if India claims to be the World's Largest Democracy!! Amnesty International has been working hard to encourage India to repeal this unjust law, but has been unsuccessful thus far. We recommend that our US representatives use their political and moral influence to pressure India to: (1) Allow Nagas to have their basic human rights respected as outlined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights; (2) Denounce the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (1958), and (3) Withdraw their 250,000 military personnel that are currently occupying Nagalim's land.Flag

People are numb to all of problems in the world. Tastefully done! How can I help I am going to email this around to some of my friends in Latin America. How can I download the petitionFlag
