Name: Theresa Patel on Jun 26, 2010Comments: Transplant Patients have to take on average 30 or more tablets a day, all of which are to prolong life after organ transplantation. Which is a Major operation and not undertaken lightly, taking a long period of recovery. It is not an easy experience and due to having to maintain a low immune system therefore creating general unwellness not an easy road to travel. Most Transplants are needed because of herediitary diseases or congenital disease, not from being over induldgent or leading an excessive way of life. Most Transplant patients due to the complexity of the operation and the ups and downs post transplant never experience the same quality of life pre illness. A Transplant is not a cure it is a way of life, whether you live for six Months or Six Years and having to pay for medication to stay alive because you have been dealt an unfortunate hand in life is adding insult.Flag
