1253 AnonymousThe land and the people living on it are sacred. Corporate, government and legalistic violators of the earth and its indigenous populations are not and should be brought to task for acts that place Eminent Domain and similar injunctions above the human right to protest the kind of encroachment we are seeing in this and many other instances.
1254 Anne McLeanCanadians should stand behind our native people in their struggle for sovereignty -- before it's too late for all of us.

1260 Darren LuckI know Cecilia Begg personally as my former neighbour and have great faith in her integrity. I am willing to contribute to bail for her. I have not followed the matter in the papers or on-line, but I understand that there are other indivudals for whom I have nothing but respect. They may approach me to contribute to a bail fund as well.

1263 Georjann MorriseauThe Government has once again breached their fiduciary obligation to the First Nation people, in this case it is a disgrace to witness such behaviour. Our people are worth more than meaningless words and promises. If we are going to be struck at least strike us face to face not when our backs are turned...

1266 Daphne WhiteI support the immediate release of these six courageous people from prison, who's only motive was defending the rights on their lands. Not only should they be released, but government made to not allow any mineral/otherwise claims to be staked on native lands (reserves or lands that are being claimed back).

1275 Stacey PhillipsUnder the freedom of information act we should be requesting documentation whereby First Nations gave the Province full authority to allow companies on our traditional territory without our consent. This act goes against the Supreme Court of Canada ruling on consultation. We need coordinated protests from all our FN communities so the Province and Canada can see our unity and our ability to bring the province and country to a hault - if the farmers can protest down the 400 series highways, so can we.

1279 Peter KingsburyWe hear how long it has taken to address our shameful history of Indian Residential Schools, and yet our government continues its broken history of mistreatment of our First Nations folks. Just actions now make future apologies unnecessary.... lets learn from history, not repeat it!

1282 Lynda van LeeuwenThe Provincial Government has a shameful record of failing to deal quickly and fairly with First Nations issues! Please step forward and free these wrongly-jailed protesters. The embarrassing history of the Ontario Government in the treatment of Native Peoples MUST end with this issue. We cannot fail to act properly again!
