Shame on Nottingham University for initiating this absurd witch-hunt against one of its own employees and against one of its own Ph.D students who was researching a vitally important subject in the contemporary political world--the nature of political Islam. Perhaps the university should commission research into the problem of Islamophobia in British universities too? The university authorities have completely taken leave of their senses and set back relations with moderate Muslim opinion enormously. |

I don't know what reasons have been given for deporting Hicham, or where it is proposed to deport him to (don't know what his country of origin is) but I would make the VERY STRONG point that NO ONE HAS ANY CONTROL OVER HIS/HER COUNTRY OF ORIGIN AND SHOULD THEREFORE NOT BE PENALISED FOR THIS; specifically I would say that any decision to deport ANYONE should be considered VERY carefully and only acted on as the VERY LAST RESORT. |

I don’t know this individual personally, he has made a contribution to the University of Nottingham & Nottingham City I believe he should be rewarded with citizenship not deportation. Also employed & studied for 13 years is an achievement
