Comments: How much longer will it take for those in power in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to realise that the brutal oppression of women is disastrous for everyone and will bring no benefit whatsoever to Afghanistan? Compassion and respect for women is the only viable way forwards for any country... Please release Gulnaz immediately! It is the only humane option...

Comments: We expect the immediate release of Gulnaz and her daughter from prision, with no conditions. We request the courage and action of the Afghan government to stand up for all human rights, especially those pertaining to women like Gulnaz, who have been imprisoned for moral crimes. May Allah reward you for forgiveness and giving of freedom back to this woman and her baby since the Hadith of Islam Allah tells us "Fear Allah with regard to women, for you have taken them as a trust from Allah..." -The Prophet (PBUH) (Muslim) to have you rewarded for heaven when your time has come to face Allah on the final Judgments day. May Allah Bless you Insha Allah

Comments: Sadly Gulnaz is not alone in being sentenced for a moral crime rather than being treated as a victim of abuse. Treating girls and women who are survivors of abuse as criminals must stop and they must be given the help and support they need.

Comments: I find it absolutely incomprehensible that a woman who is the victim of rape could be the one held responsible for adultery, and jailed!! The only thing *more* asinine is the belief that for her to 'maintain her honour' (what did she willingly do to lose it??) is to marry the brute who violated her! In what universe does this even remotely begin to make sense?? To add further insult to injury, she was found guilty of not reporting it 'soon enough'? Why?? So that she could be accused of adultery even sooner after being assaulted?? President Karzai, learn what human rights are, and stand up for them by jailing the attackers, not the victims!! I sure pity the women in that country.
