How can you arrest a DJ for selling music, without offering a licensing solution. Reason being you haven't figured out how to rob the artist more in setting a license arrangement. If you can allow a radio station to play music then how can you not allow a MixTape DJ?
The RIAA is posturing to foster their ever increasing budgets out of artist royalties in the belief that the great terrorist DJ is causing so called lackluster music sales. Fact of the matter is that mixtapes actually can break artist and further the artist music sales.
The solution is in a licensing arrangement based upon time of play, units sold and proper registration. |

Their success is highly commendable and I believe they've worked hard for their earnings. The news that the establishment they've worked so hard to maintain was "raided" was appauling. Are they serious? Making examples of these men to make yet another public mockery of our culture, but more importantly, our individual efforts to "enjoy" living the life we choose. This is a free country isn't it? They're DJs for crying out loud! They've been arrested for making mixtapes? What? Is it illegal to be a DJ?! Meanwhile, the real world beckons a more serious and honest justice system that flexes its muscle on more serious matters, (ie. murder, war, poverty). Tyree and Donnie are a force to be reckoned with. Nonetheless, God is good...this too shall pass. |
