Name: Anonymous on Jan 17, 2007Comments: It's ironic that the group that is supposedly responsible for looking after artist also are supported by the record labels. The same record labels who have cheated artist out of billions. How can you arrest a DJ for selling music, without offering a licensing solution. Reason being you haven't figured out how to rob the artist more in setting a license arrangement. If you can allow a radio station to play music then how can you not allow a MixTape DJ The RIAA is posturing to foster their ever increasing budgets out of artist royalties in the belief that the great terrorist DJ is causing so called lackluster music sales. Fact of the matter is that mixtapes actually can break artist and further the artist music sales. The solution is in a licensing arrangement based upon time of play, units sold and proper registration.Flag

These are entrepreneurs who put together mix tapes that showcase their DJ skills and provide music that we can't hear on the radio. If it wasn't for these mixtapes, we wouldnt be able to determine who really has skills or not! These artists need to step forward and defend these DJ's. The hip hop police are outta control. And they got the NERVE to compare it to drugs on the news. CUT IT OUT! FREE 'EM NOW!!!Flag

Name: RIAA = DEA on Jan 17, 2007Comments: I don't know if you've seen the "Hip Hop is Dead" video, but this is where music will be going soon. And I say good for it. Put the power, and the money back in the artist hands. All y'all new artist don't seek label deals, seek to do it yourself. And for y'all enterprising folks out there, we need networks to support these indy artist, like distribution networks, promotion networks, marketing networks and retail networks. Y'all get the idea. We don't need them. Let's do it!!!!!Flag

Name: Ade on Jan 17, 2007Comments: These are two of the most hard-working, distinguished gentlemen, let alone, DJs, that I've ever met in my life! Their success is highly commendable and I believe they've worked hard for their earnings. The news that the establishment they've worked so hard to maintain was "raided" was appauling. Are they serious Making examples of these men to make yet another public mockery of our culture, but more importantly, our individual efforts to "enjoy" living the life we choose. This is a free country isn't it They're DJs for crying out loud! They've been arrested for making mixtapes What Is it illegal to be a DJ! Meanwhile, the real world beckons a more serious and honest justice system that flexes its muscle on more serious matters, (ie. murder, war, poverty). Tyree and Donnie are a force to be reckoned with. Nonetheless, God is good...this too shall pass.Flag
