Name: William McNabb on Oct 9, 2002State: CACountry: USComments: I and my family love the ocean and love to fish. We go out on fishing boats several times a year and I have NEVER seen any boat captain allow people to take more than legal or undersize fish. The focus should perhaps be on companies that "strip" the ocean for fish instead of the recreational fishers.Flag

Name: Danny Henry on Oct 27, 2002State: TXCountry: USComments: I am a charter captain on the Louisiana coast, and am very concerned about this proposal. For hundreds of years, people have taken part in and enjoyed fishing as a way of relaxing, and spending time with their families. Now some people believe it is thier job to take that away from us. Well Govenor, it is your job to protect this priveledge that so many enjoy, and keep open the fisheries for all to share. Millions of dollars are spent each year by those who love and protect the fisheries the most. Shutting them down would remove that money from the economy and hence starve the very waters supposedly protected from money spent to protect it. Stand up to the activist and show them where your heart lies, with the fisheries and the recreational anglers!! Don't set a precedent that could send recreational angling in a downward spiral, making it out of reach for our children and grandchildren to enjoy. Don't close down recreational fishing in your/our waters!!! Captain Danny HenryFlag
