The petition

I Believe that we, the students at Paris District High School, should have the freedom to choose our own lockers for the 2007/2008 academic year. We are, apparently, being assigned lockers for the upcoming year, and I think that this is unfair and constricting to the social necessities of teenage high school students. Never before have we been forced to accommodate lockers that have been appointed to us. We have had the option of choosing a locker that was placed near a friend or peer with similar beliefs. Being near a friend is what helps keep High School fun and sociable. By assigning lockers you give away this spirit of friendship that could last many years after high school. I don't believe that the Administration realizes that not being situated by a friend can cause even the deepest friendship to wither away. You don't see this friend, unless in a class with him/her, for about 86% of the school day. If you add it up, you will see that without seeing each other in between classes, you will only get to see this person for 50 minutes at lunch, which sums up to be only about a week in a whole school year. By signing this petition, you agree that the choice of the placement of a student's locker should be up to the student, not the administration. Please sign your FIRST AND LAST names in the Name Field. Thank You.

*Note: Please do not 'bash' or name call our principal, Ms. McLoughlin, this is about the freedom of being able to choose your locker, not about discrediting our new principal, thank you.
