Name: James Summerdale on Aug 6, 2003State: ILCountry: USComments: This man should be completely disgusted with the depths he will lower himself just to try and keep himself in office. He should - for one second - try and focus as hard on the lousy economy as he does about what people do in the privacy of their own bedrooms. He is a blithering idiot - period.Flag

Name: Mark White on Aug 6, 2003State: WICountry: USComments: I believe in equality for all people, not only for the people in my own nation, but for the ones in others as well. Sexual orientation, although it may be with someone of the same sex as you, should not be a reason for discrimination. You cannot unload your beliefs into the United States constitution, although you may think you are doing good. Your beliefs are not the beliefs of all.Flag

Name: Cecilia Valencia on Aug 6, 2003State: TXCountry: USComments: I strongly believe that all gays, lesbians, bisexuals, etc. should have every right as a heterosexuals. We are no different than them, and shouldn't be treated or out numbered by others who disagree with our sexuality. It's almost being racist against whites and blacks and giving blacks only a few rights, but it's about the sex now. Don't hold it against those who can't change the way they feel in this world. You never know the president's daughter could become lesbian, or the Supreme Court Judge's son could become bisexual. Either way we all are still the same as others, and shouldn't be treated as a certain group. It's wrong and shouldn't be done that way. I know I would love to marry my girlfriend one day in peace, and not having to go through that people are against it. Just like ordinary people I want to get married in a church, with family and friends, and people allowing it to be right. Please let many dreams come true by making it ok to have the right of others of having gay marriages. It's no different than heterosexuals. Thank you.Flag

Its a personal choice that the government should stay out of. Personally I think Bush is an idiot and the passing of laws that descriminate only helps to prove that thought.Flag

Name: Nick Klouda on Aug 7, 2003State: WACountry: USComments: I think that it is really horrible that George is doing this. We say we are the land of freedom and liberty, but I don't see that happening when he is trying to push for certain groups not to have the same rights as others. I have seen the other issues, like blacks and immigration take time, but it wasn't ever a push back, it was bad and got better, but this is bad and getting worse with people fighting against others that are the same as any other! I put my vote in to show that we should be able to marry whoever we please at any place and time!Flag

Why should an ugly homophobic republican president be able to take away peoples happiness and joy Just because you like someone of the same gender doesn't make you a LEPER! Everyone deserves to have their day, right Not according to George W. I love my girlfriend with all my heart. I'd love to marry her--or atleast have the option to--one day. SCREW YOU BUSH! ~Tasha xoxoFlag

And it is irresponsible of you, President Bush, to treat gays & lesbians as outcasts. You may be the president, but that does not give you the power to enforce marriage as a union only for an man & a woman.Flag

Know that you can not have children, know that you are the living proof that people's precious faiths are not based on real life. Then know that your government, the place where you live, where you were born, the place that you have grown to love will prevent you from attaining a certain level of normalcy... you will continue to wake up with heart ache.Flag
