Comments: I quite agree on what has been Sed above it is time, Freedom Scientific that you listened to your customers and actually did something about the bugs, and problems that have been frequently reported to the jaws developers and not fixed. if you don't fix these problems, all of your users will find other screen reading apps ware the developers will actually listen to the users problems and try to fix them.

Comments: Además de los errores, es muy importante el precio del programa, así como de las actualizaciones. Y es que nos cuesta tanto como el ordenador, que no digo que no lo valga, pero podían poner un precio más asequible.

Comments: Jaws reading text in aim as one line instead of each message on its own line. also, if Jaws is idol for a few minutes it stops talking.

Comments: I have used Jaws since the late 1990s. I have always found something missing. Just recently, I have heard they finally fixed the outlook 2010 email problem. It's in Jaws 14, the fix. That is my last SMA. I'll install it, but I'll have to figure out all my old settings. FS doesn't have a way for the newest Jaws upgrade to look at the previous installation and grab any settings adjustments you have so you don't have to sit there and reset item by item, voice, screen reading choices, braille cursor choices etc. I also wish help at FS were better. I always feel like a cat in a dryer trying to get help. I tried asking about a Dvorak keyboard issues and got the run-around and likewise about Case CATylist, a transcription software. It should not be so hard to have good tech help in the 21st century. It's doabl--let's make it happen!

Comments: Although Jaws is a feature-rich program, it is getting bloated with extra features i.e. personalizations, research-it, various other things. While all these features are appealing to some, it makes programming and bug squashing a real problem. There are issues with Office programs extending back for several versions that still remain. I don't feel we've gotten much in the way of features for Version 14, I prefer Eloquence in terms of responsiveness over the Vocalizer and yet, Jaws 14 seems to have introduced some additional bugs. I find myself using an earlier version more often, and occasionally both versions lock up while I don't ever experience lockups using a competitor's screen reader. But, since I've been using Jaws since 3.5, the learning curve keeps me as a customer.

Comments: As a person who has used screen reading programs since the late 1980's and who has four technical degrees, I find it appalling that Freedom Scientific still produces a product that they claim is the best when known issues still persist that have been documented for several years now. I love some of the advanced features that have been incorporated into the program, but still find it necessary to own two other screen reding programs to deal with the crashes that occur with JAWS.

Comments: When I bought my personal computer in 1999, I paid as much for the JAWS software as I did for the computer. Now, the JAWS program costs more than a reliable modern computer. I have also paid for the professional SMA every time it has come due because I believe it is important to keep my software updated and to support products that provide me with independence as a blind person. However, I have recently begun questioning the wisdom of continuing my reliance on JAWS, particularly as accessibility is increasing in many products. I sincerely hope you will address the concerns discussed in this petition.
