Comments: A few schools have successfully changed their school meals policies, which have been welcomed by all communities. This has resulted in a more relaxed and friendly school atmosphere. Lets hope that others follow!

Comments: As a vegetarian I send all my children to school with packed lunches. However I do support this petition because I believe ritual slaughter to be inhumane. ( I also object to some intensive farming methods and means of slaughter wihch are not halal). Yes parents should be told -- just as when beef was taken off the school menus parents were advised.

Comments: Some might object to Halal meat on animal welfare grounds because the animal is not pre- stunned before killing. This is a most improper policy implemented without a proper consideration of all possible interests in the matter.
