Name: Moheka Williams on Oct 27, 2007Comments: Stop the oppressive actions of the facist regime that is the New Zealand Government. Maori have long been oppressed. The need for international condemnation is urgent, these actions are history repeating itself, the sad events of the past like Parihaka, like Maungapohatu. Google these events and find out the history of police actions on Maori. 2007 Ruatoki will be added to this sad list of violations upon my people.Flag

Name: Dexter Quaw on Oct 27, 2007Comments: Good day It is unfortunate the NZ Government would consider peaceful activists that wish their aboriginal rights and title recongnized and enshrined under the NZ Constitution. It is now appropos that NZ would conduct itself in this manner as it has shown its true colors when they along with Canada, the USA and Australia voted against the Universal acceptance of Indigenous rights and title recently at the UN. Although all laws of each country accept and recognize aboriginal right and title, the Governments do not uphold their own judicial system which is as undemocratic as a country can get. On one hand they vocalize and use various spins they are at one with their aboriginal people yet on the other hand, continue their assimilation and exclusion policies. All, for the sake of big business putting pressure on the Governments and not listening to the peoples that voted them in. What else is newFlag

I am born for the Tuhoe people, my ancestral homeland is Ruatoki, the place that the colonial stormtroopers invaded last week. Our peoples have been subjected to some nasty shit since then, the police have done their best to trample our mana, intimidate the people and scare our kids. But Tuhoe are not afraid, and support from our Indigneous brothas and sistas from nga hau e wha o te ao (the four winds of the world) only lifts our spirits and makes us stornger. One day babylon will fall. LONG LIVE INTERNATIONAL INDIGENOUS SOLIDARITY!Flag
