Southern Cameroon( English Speaking)was self governed until forced unification in 1961 with La Republique du Cameroon( French Speaking)as a federation with autonomy. French speaking Cameroon which constitutes about 80% of the population has systematically eroded the proud Anglo-Saxon culture of Southern Cameroon in the process under developing the English region even though the oil rich zone constitute for over 60% of the national revenue. French Cameroon has watered down not just the Educational system but also the dignity of the peoples of this oppressed region.They have introduced a foreign standing army that has beenused often usually with casualties.
