Hello, With the TECOM management and RTA converting the TECOM car parking to a paid parking, students at Knowledge Village have faced a lot of inconvenience! Here, we request all the students to sign the petition below to help convince the RTA and TECOM authorities how hard it is for us. You may seem like just a single person, but we really do need your opinion to get the message across! As a student, do you know HOW much you are actually spending? *Consider 6-8 hours at university, which is 15-22 Dhs everyday. *This is around a HUGE 300-440 Dhs every month *Holding an average of 7 months of classes per year, a total of AED 2100-3100 JUST FOR PARKING! All of that is of course apart from your most likely parking fines! But, we really do believe it has a lot to do with inconvenience as well! A lot of students raised concern in local newspapers as mentioned: “Apart from the cost, we have to remember to pay the fees even when we are studying, otherwise we risk being fined.” “It is very difficult to concentrate in classes, because all the time I’m worried about fines. It is also not possible to go out after every class to purchase a ticket.” “It’s not easy for everyone to access public transport as some of us live in Sharjah and other emirates. We cannot use the Metro every morning and now these parking meters will become an added inconvenience.” While we are not questioning the decisions of the management, we are requesting them to consider the situation of the students, who have been truly affected by the decision and accommodate these requests! Sincerely, The student next to you in class. *The above statements have been taken from interviews with students as appearing on websites of local newspapers.

*If you like, you could sign the petition anonymously (or even better, leave a comment! :)) and we really DO appreciate your efforts in helping promote this among your friends!
