My service dog, Katie, was taken from me on 6/13/11 because the HOA we live in did not like that we did not always get outside work done on time. The homeowner has cancer and I am disabled. The HOA does not keep up its property either. I was charged with misdemeanor animal cruelty even though they were provided with proof that Katie, a 5 year old collie in excellent health, was medically necessary. On 9/28/11, one of the AC officers got behind me by coincidence in town. He made eye contact with me at a light. He was one of the men here taking our pets away. He tailgated me in a threatening manner for several blocks knowing I have serious c-spine issues and that this would frighten me. When I reported it, his boss denied having a truck in town. I have a TBI and PTSD and have suffered severe issues since. The county has dragged out the case and I have been illegally denied visitation with my dog. This is a violation of the ADA. I have also been called names by county officials about my disability.
