I would like to introduce you to UIC information specialist Kathleen Loviscek. She was arrested and charged with FELONY Unlawful Use of a Weapon because she brought an UNLOADED and ENCASED, legally purchased and owned handgun to her place of work while her home was being renovated, so it wouldn't fall into the wrong hands.
For THIS act of caution, she was arrested for FELONY unlawful use of a weapon and given a $25,000 bond. Because here in CHICAGO, leaders like Rahm Emanuel and Gerry McCarthy can't be bothered to abide by the constitution OR the directive about the law that was struck down by the 7th circuit.

This petition calls on the District Attorney to drop the charges and return her property. The media to retract the story and the UIC Police Department to pay her for her time and trouble.
