Whereas In the State of Mississippi (USA) - On December 24, 1993, Scott County Sheriff's Department arrested two sisters, Jamie and Gladys Scott for armed robbery, and In October of 1994, Jamie and Gladys Scott were eachincredibly over-sentenced to double life terms in prison. Neither sister had prior convictions, nor arrests, nor criminal history. Three young males confessed to the robbery, but implicated and linked Jamie and Gladys into the crime. These menreceived a light sentence of 10 months in exchange for a plea bargain. Between $9-$11 was alleged to have been stolen and no one was injured or murdered. We are urging everyone to support this Petition and assist our efforts in obtaining Freedom for these innocent Ladies, one of whom is suffering life-threatening kidney failure. How is this even legal in the usa? life sentences for that is beyond cruel and unusual.
double life for 11 dollars?? this is absolutely insane. why are they still behind bars when the real guys confessed? FREE THEM NOW.
The justice system in MS is a total joke. Sending two women to die in prison over a few bucks while the actual robbers got a slap on the wrist is disgusting.
Cant believe this is happening in 2010. Those girls need to be home with their family and getting medical care immediately.
Praying for these poor ladies. My heart breaks for their mom. This whole thing makes me sick.

Another case that highlights the need for an overhaul of our in-justice system. I'm happy that these sisters were finally released, but what a shame they had to go through this to begin with.
