Duke University's Expression Tunnel

Graffiti can be found scattered around on campus. It is on the side-walks, buildings, and retaining walls, basically anywhere that can be a canvas for self-expression.Most of the graffiti relates to controversial issues. If we had a Free Expression wall or tunnel we could improve the cleanliness of our campus! Upsetting graffiti scattered around on campus would disappear… You may be thinking: ‘Then it will just show up on the Expression wall.’ Although this may be true, it gives other students the opportunity to observe it, and if they don’t like it, simply paint over it. It would allow us to view others' ideas and begin a social dialogue.

This campus is a home to us and many other students for at least four years. A home is where one belongs, can be themselves, be open, and be free of judgment. Sign this petition for the establishment of an expression wall; let's make a movement towards the free-expression of all ideas and beliefs on UNCG's campus.
