Comments: This is inhumane and cruel. The woman was given fair warning on how the dog was to be handled upon leaving the clinic. It was her own stupidity that has placed this harmless dog in the position he is currently in. The status of his well being should be released to the public. It is now a public matter.

Comments: I would be happy to adopt Elijah, if in fact he is still alive. I've owned many dogs in my life, including a pit bull mix who was fairly aggressive when I adopted him and is now a loving family member, as well as several dogs and cats who appeared to have suffered abuse or neglect and went on to become friendly, well-socialized pets. Elijah's "owner" is entirely to blame for whatever happened; a responsible pet owner would never have put an abused/neglected animal a position for an incident to occur on his first day in a new home. If anyone involved is reading this, please let me know if there is any chance that I can give Elijah the love and care that he is currently being denied, or otherwise help him in any way whatsoever. He deserves to live and love.
