Name: Andy Ellis on Nov 21, 2012Comments: Digraceful sentence. The guy who negligently killed 4 at Tebay in 2005 by allowing an unsafe rail wagon to be in service got TWO years for killing FOUR people. The Judge allowed himself to be influenced by the emotions of this case, if it had been a thirty year old bloke who went under the train Mr McGee would never have got anything like 5 years.Flag

Name: Mr Michael Jacques on Nov 21, 2012Comments: To sentence a man to 5 years jail for an accidental albeit tragic death of a 16 year old girl is a travesty of justice. If the young lady in question who was legally underage hadnt been out late at night under the influence of alcohol and drugs she would still be alive today. To put this man in jail is in effect blaming him for the state she was in. So where does the drug dealer or pub licencee come into all of this who assisted in her demise? Or the responsibility of the parents of this young lady? Does this not by its very nature also make them complicit as well? Under railway byelaws if you are in no fit state to travel you shouldnt even enter railway premises. I may sound harsh but this is the truth. Chris McGee is just a scapegoat for other peoples failings.Flag

This was an accident and genuine tragedy, why has one man been held accountable for this! Unfair and unjust!Flag
