1257 AnonymousAnonymousWhile I understand losing a loved one to drunk driving is a terrible thing I believe this petition should be more focused on UNDERAGE DRINKING. It is my understanding both boys were drunk in the car that night. Either one could have gotten behind the wheel. The real tragedy is when a innocent bystander is killed. I hope all families involved will heal from this, but let's focus this on underage drinking! Driving drunk = minumun 5 years in jail.
1258 AnonymousAnonymousi too have lost a child due to someones carelessness when they were driving the way the laws are now they definitly need to change
1259 Jennifer Frasierjjaafrasier@frontiernet.net11 years ago my bestfreind was killed by a drunk driver. Today Earl Keyser is still remembered in our hearts while this drunk is free. Our thoughts are with you and I hope that someday therewill be justice for all those that have lost their lives and those left with the pain.

1264 Michael Hackercmhack@nycap.rr.comI can't support this initiative enough. How many more have to die before the state decides to treat vehicular manslaughter as another form of murder ? Its a joke how little responsibility is placed on those who get behind the wheel of car while impaired. The fact that you can kill people with your car and only go to jail for a few years sends the wrong message. Put them away for 20+ and maybe people will at least think twice.
1265 Andrewpimpuncle1@aol.comgood luck with the petition i hope everything works out, because they really need to do something about underage drinking, because people get away with alot even though they have all these new laws

1268 AnonymousAnonymousMy heart goes out to the family of Frank Thomas. Too many lives are lost due to drunk driving. I wish you the best in your efforts at making this change.

1270 Matthew F. RyanAuthorityDenied@gmail.comI, and many other New Yorkers find it appalling that people are allowed to walk away from crimes like DWI's and DWI related manslaughter with a slap on the wrist. When will the legislatures of this state listen to the peoples cries?

1284 Emily Testoylime39@yahoo.comThere should be a lot stricter rules when it comes to this, right now it makes it no big deal to drive drunk and kill someone, there needs to be something done soon! help save lives!

1288 AnonymousAnonymousim sorry to hear about your son..BUT they're are a million petitions out there and none of them do a damn thing to tell you the truth you know it and i know it !! Kids are ALWAYS, and i repeat ALWAYS going to do what they want with they're friends weather it be drinking or smoking pot or having sex or doing something else, it does not matter, you can tell a kid 10000000 fkcking timesnot to do something and hes going to do it anyway weather you like it or not. That is life. Look at all the little miss prissy girls thats grow up all sweet and tender, then they hit 21 and they turn into pigs and have sex with every guy out there and are going to bars every thrusday for ladies night. Look at the boys that play sports everyday and have a good track record, then they jump in the car with some friends to go to the store to get a soda and get killed by some old lady cause she crossed the center line cause her glasses were to thick and she cant see so good!!! what are you going to to tehn?? make a petition that old people shouldnt drive?? commm on are you fkcuing kidding me. People can try to do anything they want, but it all cost money and nothing ever really seems to get done about it anyway except a name on a piece of paper that say.."dont drink and drive" So to sum this up.... im sorry to hear about yer son, i lost my dad this past april so i KNOW what its like!!!

1295 AnonymousAnonymousI would feel a lot safer if people had to consider the trouble they could get into or the people they could harm/kill if they were to drive drunk. Right now there is none, just a slap on the wrist. I hope this law passes because we need this in NYS.
