Name: Peter Vitakis on Jun 26, 2011Comments: Yes to renovating Fowler Square, with better pavement, plantings, irrigation system, and improved lighting of the statue. Fowler Square could be enlarged by incorporating the "No Standing" lanes, and nothing more, still retaining an important vehicular artery. Yes to renovating BAM Triangle Park (like into a plaza), and removing the visual and physical barrier created by the ironing fencing. No to eliminating a through street, and shunting traffic to adjacent streets (like South Portland and Fulton). You may also recall the already horrific traffic snarls and continuous honking when Brooklyn Tech hosts city-wide exams and other events. No to creating a desolate, lone and potentially dangerous South Elliott street, particularly at night. No to Dept of Transportation for looking to fix something that ain't broke.Flag

Name: DOUGLAS W NEWTON on Jul 28, 2011Comments: It would prevent drivers going south on South Elliot Place from turning right on Fulton. They would have to turn left on Lafayette and drive around several blocks, adding inconvenience to them and more congestion for the rest of us. Also, the slightly larger park is not a place the public will ever use to sit and relax. Too much traffic on all sides.Flag
