Recently I was browsing the national sex offender registry to see how many sick individuals were living in my area. I was startled to find out that there is a three time convicted child molester working at the county fairgrounds, a person who was just released less than 5 months ago for child solicitation and possession of child pornography working at the local Burger King, and that almost every fast food restaurant in town had a sexual deviant working for them. These businesses don\'t just have children there, they cater to and advertise to children(McDonalds owns more playgrounds than any other business in the world). Any business that caters to or advertises to children has an obligation to protect these children. Legislation needs to be passed to force these sort of businesses to run background checks and not hire people with a history of child molestation. There are too many places that these sick individuals can work where they will not be exposed to children. When this petition gets enough signatures I intend to send it several business that should be protecting the children they cater to and to federal lawmakers. Children are our most precious resource and we need to show lawmakers and big business that we want our children protected as much as possible.
