Jill AnasPunish The Deed...Not The Breed. My Pit bull is the protector of my children, self, and home. He is the sweetest dog and would never cause anyone any harm. Punish The people who teach aggression to their dogs and don't punish all the responsible, loving dog owners. If you do away with one breed why not all of them. Please let us keep our dogs...They are our family!!!!
Joy BloxhamI think it is ridiculous to put a ban on owning a particular breed of dog. The problem is not in the breed of dog, it is in the owner responsibility. I, for one, do not think responsible pet lovers/owners should be held responsible for non-responsible people's actions. That is like holding siblings responsible for each others actions...sounds ridiculous does it not....you have my point!!!!

Anonymousthese certain breeds are only dangerous if the owner raises them to be that way..i know plenty of pit bulls that are complete lap dogs and more loving than smaller dogs....its all in the owners hands...fighting these breeds should be the focus not banning ownership
Teresa DanielsPlease do not punish the responsible dog owners who have these breeds. The dogs are not the problem. If these breeds are banned then the same "irresponsible" owners will just choose another breed and you will be back here again discussing that issue. Fix the common denominator in these cases---the irresponsible owners.
Barbara LovingThis would be bad. The owners need to be punished, NOT the breed.
Alisa OstwaltOwners should be held accountable and should be punished to the fullest extent of the law for dogfighting, neglect and abuse...which makes ANY breed of dog a potential problem. IT IS NOT THE DOG'S FAULT and breed bans are NOT the answer. Please do not punish responsible owners. It is horrifying and akin to a holocaust what has happened in Denver, Canada and other municipalities when family members are taken from their homes.

Kelly PorterI am a responsible pit bull owner. My spayed and neutered dogs pose no threat to anyone, animal or human, ever. They are my family and they leave very happily with my two cats, one of which would be absolutely lost without them as they are best friends. Punish bad owners of all dog breeds, not innocent dogs. We do not profile people, why profile dogs? There are dangerous dogs of all breeds if they have bad owners. Isn't it a better use of county funds to crack down on bad owners than to round up perfectly safe and law abiding canine citizens? Isn't it the moral choice as well?
Beverly SwaimThis proposal will not solve a thing. Every time anything has been banned, it is always available elsewhere in some form or way. This would be no exception. Please solve this by enacting stricter rules regarding the animal's owners.

Stephanie LennonI have 2 rescued pitbulls that are the most amazing pets! They are gentle, intelligent and loving and they both came from an abusive past but they still love people with their big hearts. They are around toddlers and other small animals and sit patiently while they are petted and tugged on. Please understand bully breed dogs have the biggest hearts in the world and deserve compassion not legislation that will send them to their death for no good reason. thank you for listening
sara kingsmanBSL is BS!!!
AnonymousResponsible owners should not be punished for the actions of those who choose to make their animals aggresive.

DanielThere aint nothing wrong with a pit bull, it is all about how you raise them. I have the two sweetest pit bulls i've ever seen, had them since there were babies. GREAT DOGS!!!!!!!!!!!
Angel PerezHow can the victim be blamed for the crime!!! Whats next, an old women going to jail for being mugged? Are you kidding us? I support the fight to control mishandling our beloved animals but to ban them is out of the question. A few individuals who think its cool to raise any animal to hurt anything overrides the thousands of responsible owners in our counrty whodo the right thing? Whats next? We the people will not support anyone who supports this ban. Ban politicians who allow illegal weapons to enter out communities before you ban our dogs!!!
Pitbull NationStop BSL against Pitbulls or any other breed for the wrong reasons.
Margaret SargentBreed specific laws are ignorant and those who make them make no effort to get to know the breed that they are banning. Ban individual aggressive dogs and punish those who make them that way. These dog breeds are not " born mean" they are made that way by people. Punnish those who do that not those who make loving family companions out of teh same breed.
Jesse BrownMy wife and I own two professionally trained Pit Bulls. We spent many hours and dollars to make our dogs good representatives for the breed Please don't take our children away from us. Thank you, Jesse and Stephanie Brown Sherrills Ford, NC

Roger Mosley, JrPit Bull Terriers are the most loving dogs I know. Remember when the Rot's were the "Bad Dog's". My wife and I own both pit's and rot's and would love for anyone to come to our house and see how mean they are. I have told people I meat that if any one of my dogs were to ever bite someone, I would shoot the dog myself. I'm sure most of you would agree with that. I hae seen Pit Bull's work as Therapy Dogs as well. Mean? I think not!
billy perezMy kids and I love pitbulls and are resposible owners. We wouldn't know what to do without them.
Donna Tessierim a bully owner and rescue them when need be i dont understand why we punish the breed when they learn from their owners how to behave!!!!! just like kids these days they are a product of their environment!! Dnna and the bullys 3
Adam Hathcock
Amber Cookits not the dogs fault..the owners should be charged as murderers do...they came to this country for protection not to FIGHT THEM......
terry mccrayyes we need to put a stop to the BSL. BULL SH......T! i
Mark BaileyI have two American Pit Bulls and they are a very big put of our families lives. Many people who are against this breed have never been around an Pit Bull and are afraid of the unknown. When truely the American Pit Bull is one of the greatest breeds there is. They are banned because they try to please their owners.
Jackson CozortI have two beautiful APBTs and they are the most beautiful, people friendly, and loving dogs I have ever had. Those who believe in breed ban/breed specific legislation are simply misinformed and wrong.
AnonymousI am a responsible owner and can not get my pit to bite if I wanted to. There is not a mean bone in the dogs body so please punish the people who train their dogs to be mean. Wether it be a pit, rot, or even a pom.

Mark BaileyThanks for all your doing and if there is anything you need done in the Midwest let me know.
Emanuele CaroleoThe ideology that blames a breed for the acts of a few, careless, irresponsible owners, is plain prejudice and unconstitutional.
