Sammy PeddycordDo not make the mistake of instituting such a frivilous law.
AnonymousThis is an unjustly punishment, That is only displaying how our city leaders misuse their authority. WHY DO WE CONTINUE TO VOTE FOR OFFICIALS THAT ARE SO CLOSED MINDED TO ATTEMPT TO PASS SUCH A LAW.

AnonymousI have two american pitt bulls that my family and, I love very much. Anyone one could walk up and pet either one of them at anytime. Man, Women or, child, unless your up to no good. These dog's are no lesser of dog's than the one's our officer has in the patrol car's. They don't do half as much harm as the N.C. officer's dog's they have to people. You want to put down a dog? Put them down. The one's that are trained to cause harm to the people. If not, leave mine alone.

BrentPit bulls are the most harmless animals, iv had many in the past couple of years, i also have a 2 year old son and a 1 year old son who have always gotten along with my pit bulls! Pitt bulls are only betrayed to be vicious because of there dumbass owners!
Joshua MaynardI love the pitbull breed. They are wonderful dogs. My kids love everyone I have. My kids can play with walk with do anything with them they want too. I have 7 pitbulls and they are all really good dogs love everyone of them. It is not the dog it is the owner and how you raise them!
Lisa AsbillWe are responsible pitbull owners. If our right to own pitbulls is taken away then what will be next? We will move before we fall victim to BSL

Stephanie RatcliffMy Doberman Pinschers are both shelter rescues, one of which was adopted from Forsyth County Animal Control. They are wonderful dogs and valued members of my family. I will not allow fear and discrimination to tear my family apart. I am prepared to take my residency and income to another county or state to avoid ignorance. Please, understand how many families in Forsyth county, NC this possible breed ban will negatively impact.
Torie SerkezI live in Florida. Even though I dont live here or other states that have banned, they are trying to do it EVERYWHERE! Why punish the people who help save the Breed? I am responsible and have loving pitbulls...We need to put to focus the people who own any dog and how they raise and treat them. Dogs are not born viscous, they are trained or made that way! The government CANNOT FOCUS ON ONE BREED!! They should also focus on GERMAN SHEPARDS, ROTTWEILERS,DOBERMANS, AND YES EVEN GOLDEN RETRIEVERS BECAUSE THEY CAN ALSO BE USED AS GUARD DOGS! LEAVE OUR PITS ALONE! ATLEAST GIVE US THE CHANCE TO PROVE THEY ARE WELL BEHAVED AND FAMILY DOGS!!

Gary CheyneI manage the Petco In Kernersville,NC. We have many Pit Bulls in our store weekly. They are always well behaved,as their owners have trained them to be. I also have a Pit Bull in my home. He the best pet we've ever had!
Merrick BradyRemember to punish the Deed not the Breed! We responsible bully owners do not deserve to have our constitutional rights taken away!
Katherine KopetzkyI have a 5 yr old pit, and its all in how you raise your dog. Raise them to fight, and that's what they will do!

Sarah RobertsI have a beautiful Pit Bull that would never hurt anyone! I don't see how the breed can be punished for something their idiot owners do!!! If these laws continue to be approved, good dogs may be taken from good owners, but those idiot owners will continue to disobey the laws and what will happen then? I say let the punishment fit the crime! Don't punish the breed!
Angel RainesI have 4 pit bulls and three sisters and one brother and they all play together. My parents even have 2 pit bulls. I think the pit bull is actually the best dog I have ever owned. Me and my family trust pit bulls alot more than any other breed they are loyall to there owners, and that is why idiots can train them to fight. Why are you going to punish the whole breed and the responsible owners for some stupid peoples mistakes? Why don't you ban them from ever having a dog and make them be on probation or something. If you do ban them all people are going to do is go to the next breed it might be golden reteviers, labs, boxers, anything to make money!!!! No One is taking my babys from me!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cathy RainesI have 2 small kids and 2 big pit bulls who are hameless!!!!! Don't punish us for have 2 great dogs that are loyall punish the people who turned them mean ,visious, tought them to attack!!!!!!!!!!!! Punish the the people Who fight them Never let them own another dog !!!If it is so easy to ban a whole breed than it should be easy to ban all of those people who fight them and treat them badly!!!!!
Travis SmithNO ONE IS TAKING MY DOGS FROM ME 4 SOME IDIOTS STUPID MISTAKES!!!!!! BAN THE BAD PEOPLE NOT ME AND MY DOGS AND ALL THE OTHER GOOD OWNERS AND THERE DOGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Randy VanscoyI disagree with the ban and think the owners should be held responsible along with the leash law enforced. We have two great danes and would not even think of hurting another person or animal.

AnonymousBreed Specific Legislation is unjust discrimination towards the dogs and to the responsible owners. Is there proven statistical correlation between breed-specific legislation and a reduction in the number of animal-related injuries? If it was found that children of a certain race/ethnicity were statistically proven to commit more crimes, there wouldn't be enactment of race/ethnicity-specific legislation to ban these children. In the same regard, as it is the responsibility of the individual and the parents for proper behavior of children, in the case of breeds, the responsibility of the owner. Do not punish responsible owners and dogs by discrimination. Regardless of a dog's breed, irresponsible owners will always harbor dangerous canines. Rather than taking the easy 'shortcut' approach, the source of the problem should be addressed (the irresponsible owners, their related activities and proper education/training through a systematic approach.)
Viv GravesInstead of banning specific breeds-pass a spay/neuter law, make it so a breeder has to be licensed& inspected, and no dog allowed to have more than 1 litter a year. Hefty penalties for non-compliance. Stricter animal cruelity laws too!
AnonymousTougher punishment for those owners that allow their animals to run loose. No more slaps on the hand. Banning breeds is not the answer. This will only punish the responsible pet owner. Spay and neutering will also keep animals at home.

Jean InstenesI can understand the concern lawmakers have with people who own dogs that can be trained to be vicious. It's the same concern they have with people who use guns to commit crimes and use cars to endanger people on the road. There will always be people out there who will misuse their freedom. You mostly hear about them in the news. You DON'T hear about the thousands of people with wonderful dogs because they're GOOD citizens! If you requested information about people and their "dangerous" dogs, you would be FLOODED with responses from responsible dog owners, telling you stories of how gentle and friendly and intelligent their dogs are. IT'S THE OWNERS THAT MAKE THE DOGS MEAN, NOT THE BREED!! Please do the research required to make an intelligent and informed decision.

jennifer castonplease stop blaming dogs because some people "think" they should be afraid of them. my 3 dogs are my security. i live alone. my son is a u.s. marine and now i count on my dogs for protection. they are taken care of and are undoubtedly the most spoiled animals i know. the one thing i will emphasize that really needs to be addressed is that ALL pet owners should have to take their animals to the veterinarian yearly or lose them. all too often, i see people with dogs that they say they love and care for slowly watch them die from heartworms, etc. if you want to mandate pet owners to be responsible, that should be to have proof of veterinarian care!
