We, the undersigned, urge the Halifax Regional Municipality to retain the former St Patrick’s / Alexandra School as a community owned and run site.
To this end we support the bid by the Micmac Native Friendship Centre to buy the site.
We further ask that the proposal by the North End Community Health Centre to aquire the old St Patrick’s school be made a condition of the sale of the property to the successful proponent under RFP No. 11-039.
The proposal for the future of the St Patrick's site continues to generate vital conversations among our neighbors and local stakeholders. I am currently reviewing the latest correspondence from municipal officials regarding the status of the ongoing bid process. Your engagement remains essential as we pursue a sustainable outcome for this community asset.

Giving the building to the Micmac Native Friendship Centre is the right thing to do. Halifax needs to step up and make this happen.
