My son saved for 12 months to buy an iphone on ebay to find he is not allowed to use it because the original network operator has it locked to their network. Even though the phone is completely out of contract and fully paid for and now legally owned by my son.

I then find out he has to either PAY the network operator to unlock his phone or use it on their network.

Then I look on the internet and see thousands and thousands of prople in exactly the same boat. Network operators are making an absolute fortune from this kind of illegal activity and SHOULD NOT be allowed to do this.

I want to start this petition to force these network operators to automatically unlock phones once they have been completely paid for and are out of contract.
