To: Whoever It May Concern The FOOD3007 examinations taken on Friday 17/6/2011 came as a surprise for many students. Despite the fact that we were all adequately prepared for this exam, it deemed too difficult and tedious by most. Most had voiced their displeasure and thus the objective of this petition. The questions from Olena Kravchuk which accounts for 55 marks out of 80 marks had many questions that were not understood by many and was too complex given the amount of time. The questions were badly structured and marks allocation seemed improper. Besides this, a question had little relevance to course materials. We have definitely expected application questions where we need to show our understanding in the course. fair enough. but the questions asked by her were 'out of this world' , little was mentioned during lectures regarding this and a hefty 30 marks was allocated to it. This does not make sense. And how is it that Dr Polly Burey could stick to course materials so closely and at the same time asked applications questions that are of high relevance and we could all understood it well. Olena's questions were not alike any question in the past year papers in terms of difficulty level and context. Another issue was at the last week of academic calendar, Olena gave us a 20% report assignment. That was almost exam study break and a check with the course profile has mentioned that the assignment was to be briefed since April. Many of the students are affected by how disorganised this course has turned out and shocked at the professionalism of Olena Kravchuk. We ask in your good faith that this case be investigated and credit us with what we deserve. Thank You Class of Food3007 Undergrad 2011
