| 1 | D NGANGA | I support Marina Park Development BUT not at that price tag. I am not convinced they have explored all possible options. There is a need to go back to the drawing board on this one and prove that this is prudent use of taxpayer's money. |

| 11 | Dorise Barrett | I am working hard with the Committee to have this Plan rescinded as it currently stands. The waterfront is to be enjoyed not destroyed! |
| 12 | Brian Kurlick | You have so much room to build these structures elsewhere. Why on earth would you want to destroy existing park. Don't follow the money like so many other cities have done. Think of the beauty and usefulness of the park first! |
| 13 | Susan Carlson | |
| 14 | Ruth Barker | No condos or hotels within the park. |
| 15 | Frank E. Negro | |
| 16 | Anonymous | Lets develop our waterfront with the people in mind not just business dollars |
| 17 | Terry J Flynn | I do not agree with the building of condos, hotel or a skateboard facility in the Marina Park....Marina oark is not, and likely will never be, a tourist DESTINATION...Keep it a park for local people to enjoy.... |
| 18 | Mike Fratpietro | In a shrinking city population, I believe there would be no one to move into these condos. Utilities and taxes are already high enough, and a 3% hike in taxes will put some more people out on the street. This will lead to even more crime. |
| 19 | Slawomir Kiraga | |
| 20 | Ingo Roetscher | Condos and a hotel would only only benefit those few people who could afford to live there and would take away space that should be left for the general public to enjoy. If the marina is indeed to be developed for the enjoyment of the residents of Thunder Bay then pprivate businesses for select users do not belong there. |

| 24 | Herman&Alice Prenger | Keep waterfront as parkland and if the city does have exstra dollars to spend .
1: Improve and create new parks around the city.
2 :keep property taxes down because we are a city with a lot of seniors that are on fixed income. |
| 25 | Duane Dewar | I do not believe, this should go through, what about all the fun,Family and Friends share at the Park, who wants to look up at towering building,it is also a great place for the birds,to take a rest.
Marina Park has and should remain part of our Cities tourism, just look at the spectacular view of, "THE SLEEPING GIANT",so Please don't take this away from US.
A very Concerned CITIZEN,and by the way,I am also a "TAXPAYER" |
| 26 | Bruce Swartz | This is not a well thought out plan. There is no need for a skaters park number one. This hotel was offered to the City over 10 years ago and it was turned down What's has prompted the turnaround? If it is to boost our economy, 90% of the contracts and the workers should be businesses and labourers etc. from Thunder Bay |
| 27 | Larry Clausen | I do not support condo and hotel development in marina park, but I will support any public ventures . |

| 29 | Anonymous | Cutting down trees and blocking our national treasure's view in UNACCEPTABLE! Listen to the people who OWN this town, not the dozen of you who THINK you do. |
| 30 | Susan MacAskill | I would also like to see a stop to the building of the skate park at Marina Park. |
| 31 | Christopher Connolly | The move to "sell" our parks and appear progressive to the electorate is something city council should be ashamed of.
I will endeavour to cast my ballot for any member who agrees to rethink thier narrowminded actions. |
| 32 | Lynn Palmer | I am STRONGLY opposed to any development of condominiums or hotels at Marina Park. Instead I support the Lake Superior Place proposal and encourage conservation of any natural features (trees, water) as much as is possible. |
| 33 | Sheena Hannula | Marina Park took many many long years to reclaim the land and create a wonderful greenspace along our lake that our ciurrents citizens and visitors to our marvelous city could enjoy. Let us leave it that way for the following generations. There is more than enough available property in all the downtown areas for new hotels and condominiums....just tear down the rundown and derelict buildings that abound both in the south core and the north core. If newer buildings were there the surroundings would be a lot nicer and all could enjoy the rejuvenation of our city without comprimising what little green space and awesome views that we have......would you consider putting up condos and a hotel at Hillcrest Park, the conservatory or the Friendship Gardens??? |
| 34 | Marino Minoletti | |
| 35 | Anonymous | I agree with friends on this issue. |
| 36 | Bill Komoski | Stop wasting our tax dollars on this development for the benefit of a few that have money!
Keep Marina Park as natural as it is now! |
| 37 | Jessie Nelson | |
| 38 | Lisa Nelson | |
| 39 | Christine Seaberg | I think that the condos should not be built -- and neither should the skate board park. Whose idea was that one? Someone who has a 12 year old son. They spend no money, graffitti the place etc -- none of which will add to the Marina as I would like to see it. |
| 40 | Edward Lightfoot | Just imagine Stanley Park in Vancouver with a bunch of condos! |
| 41 | Verna Lightfoot | If you must have Condos and a hotel, put them at either the far north or south end but not near the station. |
| 42 | Velda Williams-Sande | Please do not put housing of any kind at the waterfront. This will block the water view....the natural look should be maintained. In fact please do not put a roller skatepark there either. Multifamily use only.....from the baby to seniors. Safety first and foremost....... |
| 43 | Anonymous | Not in favor of destroying the Marina for some condominium and a hotel. We have the prince arthur hotel and fix the downtown and simpson street first. And why hide the rest of the people on the hill from the sleeping giant. |
| 44 | Walter Cheppenko | I,am totally against these plansfor Marina Park |
| 45 | Anonymous | I have been a resident of this city for 34 years and one of the most beautiful places to visit is our beautiful waterfront .In the summer my grandchildren and I enjoy watching mothernature at her most relaxing time of year .Why take this away from our furture grandchildren ??????? |
| 46 | James Massey | totally against the use of parkland for private gain. Of the 25 miles of waterfront in the city, only a small portion is accessible by the citizens of the city. The city councli should see what other cities are doing with waterfront |
| 47 | MOE | This committee is not democratic, these people will not divulge information at meetings or answer questions that are on this Marina Park Development Committee. More Citizens needed on the committee not City Counsillors they are destroying this who idea and concept and pushing for only their ideas. Why can't we have a voting method like council has set up for their wage increase they want on a website and have everyone vote for this project. Why is there not a plebiscite for this amount of money being spent. We've had them before for items less expensive and also for the Regional Hospital. What is being hidden and which developer is in the wings waiting for deals with this committee? There was a previous Hotel to be built on the waterfront and council turned it down... Why? Wasn't there any benefit to local pocket liners or members? This stinks to HIGH HEAVEN and we need people NOW to ban together and put a stop to this whole thing. EVEN the people from Toronto that we paid out of tax payers money who came here and studied this waterfront said "NO HOTELS OR CONDOS" .. we paid them big dollars to tell us this .. and this counsil as I say above will not listen to them or us. COME ON Citizens your paying for this.. you elected them and they are our employees that don't need a raise.. stand up .. petition .. stop this ghastly mistake. We are still paying for VictoriaVille remember that white elephant our counsil got us into. SUPPORT THESE people and lets make a difference. |
| 48 | Rhonda Prystanski | |
| 49 | Marjorie Cameron | Does council not think the ripple effect of the collapse of the USA housing market and probable recession will affect tourism in Thunder Bay. Who will be staying in the proposed condominiums and hotel. Is the condominium downtown North Thunder Bay completely filled? Perhaps council could rethink their proposal. |
| 50 | William Prodanyk | This water front should be entirely banned. And there should be NO private HOTELS or CONDOMINIUMS BUILT THERE. Why does the city council NOT allow us a survey of citizens on the internet and in the paper for or against the water front like they are doing with their wage increase they want? I would like someone to contact me to find out how I can help or be involved in your group also. |
