Carl A. Johnson | I strongly endorse the sentiments of the 17 faculty members of the Economics Department. I also applaud President Brodhead's stance regarding the irregular and illegal maner in which prosecution has handled the case. But much more needs to happen to make Duke whole again. While liability concerns may mitigate against publicy acknowledging mistakes made early on by the administration and certain members of the faculty, it is in Duke's best interest to admit to those mistakes that continue to be unjustly harmful to the accused students and by extension to the entire Duke family. Tolerance and forgiveness were very much a part of the Duke culture during the more than eight years that I studied at Duke (BS and PhD). We need now to start the process of forgiveness and healing. This can only happen if leadership and faculty step forward and admit to mistakes where they have happened and assert resolutely that protection of individual rights of Duke's citizens is fundamental in its code of ethics.
Michael Burgner | The way that the faculty, including members of the group of 88 as well as others who attempted to publicly humiliate and trash members of the lacrosse program following the report by the false accuser is an embarrassment to me and also to my family. I never thought I would see the day when I would doubt whether I should send my children to my alma mater. That day has unfortunately come.

Blake C. Byczek | It's one thing for the econ. department to issue an apology for the group of 88, but I am still waiting for the administration to issue a formal apology to all parties hurt by their lousy handling of this incident.

Tulin Koray | My heartfelt thanks to the members of the Duke University Economics Faculty for supporting and welcoming Reade, Collin, and the entire Duke Lacrosse Team to the classes they teach and the activities they sponsor. Collin and Reade, welcome back. Dave, good luck to you in your future endeavors.

Daniel R. Roediger | I await an apology and the public acceptance of responsibility from the faculty and staff members involved in the extra-judicial conviction of the lacrosse team in last spring's Chronicle advertisement: I am listening. I also await evidence of President Brodhead's leadership. Finally, let us not forget Coach Michael Pressler's termination ("resignation"): President Brodhead's and AD Alleva's premature answer to (some of) the public's premature verdict. Best wishes to the team, Coach Danowski and the three members currently placed on hold with Lady Justice.
