melinda wilson | I applaud and thank the faculty members in the Econ. Dept. who had the good sense and courage to put forth their document and to sign their names to it.

Quinn Talley | I agree wholeheartedly with the Economics Department faculty letter. I would go one step further, and demand the investigation include the actions of the 88 faculty members that fostered an environment where people were encouraged to rush to judgment and assume the three lacrosse team members were guilty of a crime. No investigation will be complete without examining the influence of these professors.
Dr. Peter R. Wilson | A heartfelt thanks to my econ colleagues for their letter.
| 15 | Richard Riley | I am ashamed of Duke, the administration and the faculty.
Unless there is a very, very serious effort to completly change, I will no longer contribute to the Duke annual fund. |

Faculty that prejudge and attack any student based on race, gender &/or socioeconomic background do not belong at Duke or any other university. If Duke is going to let itself be defined by the Group of 88, then it will only see further declines in its applications. |
James C. Ray | The faculty and administration of Duke University owe apologies to the Alumni, the Durham Community, Students of Duke University, and above all to the three wrongfully accused students. That the students' lawyers could make even a plausible argument that the University undermined their ability to receive a fair trial in Durham County is shocking. Those of the faculty who seem to be hired solely for the toxicity of their opinions should be exorcised.

Karen Humeniuk | I never believed the charges - though I do believe that modern morals have made the conditions that lead to date rape far too easy and common - because I did not want to believe that three young men, qualified to attend Duke, would be the kind of scum that would gang rape (3 of them working together in a tiny bath in a house filled with other Duke students) a woman that they had hired. If the evidence had been proved my faith wrong, I would have been ashamed of them, but not of any other man at Duke. We are far to quick to destroy this generation of young men, sacrificing them at the feminist alter.

James L Kendall | The Duke administration needs to step back and evaluate themselves and the direction they are leading this once great institution.
A. Peter Allan | Effective leadership woud diffuse the PR crisis. Brodhead must go.

Roger E. Gravlin | This entire case is a travesty of justice. I wish to lend my unqualified support to the wrongly accused students, and offer my commitment to help in any way facilitate justice in this situation.
Mike Fields | I'm especially proud that I majored in Economics. I now plan to encourage my daughter, currently a Freshman at Duke, to do likewise.
Nina Zash | Let this travesty end and let Duke make some public retribution to those 46 young men and their families for their rush to judgment.
Richard Zash | Let this travesty end and let Duke make some public retribution to those 46 young men and their families for their rush to judgment.

Richard Fleming McLean | It's about time the faculty woke up and realized how the Gang of 88 is dragging all their reputations through the muck.
Winford Kent Bishop, T '61 | I applaud the Economics faculty. I am proud to say that I majored in Economics, played lacrosse, and have defended the lacrosse team from the beginning. As Dave Evans said, the accusations are "fantastic lies," and have been transparently so.
Carol Anne L. Jennison | My husband and I graduated from Duke in 1980, and our 2 sons who are in the Classes of 2008 and 2010 are the 16th and 17th members of our collective families to attend Duke. Furthermore, our oldest son is a member of the lacrosse team and was Reade Seligmann's roommate during the 2005-06 year. We are very appreciative of this initiative to help the healing process of a terrible injustice that has hurt so many innocent people. Thank you!

PHILIP W. HUTCHINGS III | I BELIEVE THAT THE WILLFUL CONCEALMENT OF EXCULPATORY EVIDENCE IS GROUNDS FOR DISMISSAL OF ALL CHARGES AND ALSO GROUNDS FOR DISBARMENT OF THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY.
George Jennison | I support the tenants of the Economics Department letter wholeheartedly.
Alexander Copeland, III | I would like to see some accountability demanded from Brodhead and the Group of 88.
