FOCUS on Comeau

89 Signatures Goal: 100

We, the undersigned, hereby request that the Woodstock Town Board immediately impose a MORATORIUM on all development and plans for development at the Town of Woodstock's Comeau property at this time.

We are concerned that moving ahead without careful consideration of all of the short and long term consequences of the proposed developments may be deleterious to the Comeau. We urge the Town Board instead to establish the (required and promised) Stewardship Committee, appointing to it representative members of *all* established groups traditionally known to enjoy the use of the Comeau, and to work steadfastly and in good faith with this Committee and the Woodstock Land Conservancy to formulate and implement the (required and promised) Stewardship Management Plan --intended to govern how the property can be developed to its most productive use, while ever mindful of the terms and spirit of the Conservation Easement approved by the voters and signed into law last fall.
