Comments: This is not a handout. This is essential funding for essential education. In the spirit of fairness, and the government's duty to act fairly, FNTI must receive the necessary funding. It can be seen that this institution helps to fulfil the government's fiduciary duty to First Nations Peoples and their attempts to overcome centuries of domination. Comments: All First Nations post secondary institutions should receive core funding like all other schools in Ontario. By withholding this they are forced to operate on a tentative budget. Long term planning goes by the wayside. I sat as a board member at Six Nations Polytec for ten years and faced the yearly struggle for funding. If Ontario and Canada are seriously creating opportunities for First Nations people they should allow core funding that would allow our institutions the opportunity to create the infrastructure that we so surely need.
