The 1939 Register will be released by FindMyPast on November 2nd, for a charge of £6.95 per individual household. This is an extortionate and insulting price for loyal subscribers. This petition asks that FMP either make the Register free for subscribers, or increase the price of the subscription for people who wish to use the Register.

This pricing structure wasn't thought up over the past couple of days; this took meetings and discussions amongst many people before they came up with the final number. To announce this less than a week before release of the data set shows they knew there'd be push-back.
The T& C's in the email I received and I signed up for 10 days ago (12 month World Subscription) States that I have UNLIMITED access to World records - as the register is from the UK It should be covered. Trade Descriptions Act has been breeched here, false advertising. DISGUSTING
I took up FMP offer of a discount if I renewed my subscription early. On the confirmation of payment and membership it clearly states"You have a years access to all Britain records on the site" now they say I have to pay for the 1939 register! Broken contract? Trading Standards investigate please
I am very disappointed -and they replied to my complaint with a standard rely - not covering my question about why the extra charges were not mentioned in subscription or publicity for the 1939 Register.They must have known about the charges some time ago. I bought my subscriptions specifically in anticipation of access to 1939 Register.
Too expensive per household. British Newspaper Archive does a good value stand-alone annual subscription that would perhaps be a better idea for the 1939 register
It should be made illegal for them to do this

Appalled at the high cost of using this - FMP should realise that a lot of users are pensioners on a low income and simply cannot afford to pay high annual fees for their hobby and then increased charges on top - Shame on you FMP for being so money grabbing. I was so looking forward to using it and now I know I cant afford it
