Name: Juan Aluma on Dec 12, 2012Comments: I support the position of FCAP that the 1996 opinion which clearly outlines what is considered unauthorized practice of law is adequate and "no Action" is required. Further restricting the scope of a duly licenced professional CAM will result in unnecessary legal costs to community members with little or no beneficial impact to the same community it wishes to protect.Flag

If this is such a concern, make CE classes that address these issues and require that CAMs attend these classes and become educated on these items.Flag

Name: Henry Abreu on Dec 17, 2012Comments: A real solution to this problem will be to required further education from CAMs and All Association Directors, especially HOAs’ directors. Astutely the issue has only been directed against CAMs, perhaps with the subtle intent to eradicate the profession. It is important to remember that “The single most important concern in the Court's defining and regulating the practice of law is the protection of the public from incompetent, unethical, or irresponsible representation.” The Florida Bar v. Moses, 380 So. 2d 412, 417 (Fla. 1980). Which is exactly what a good education can prevent.Flag
